When one knows the 3 states of consciousness
*Waking (visva)- limited dual knowledge
**Dream (taijas)- perception of exterior impressions
***Deep sleep (prajia)- it is all darkness (only) a form of supreme Bhairava
He is then filled with the splendour of infinite consciousness...
As (only) the form of Bhairva means as the expression of the turiya or the 4th state of consciousness which is Supreme.
In ordinary life, there is always a subject-object duality. In the 4th state of consciousness (turiya), the sense of duality disappears. It is the Light of the
Essential Self or Bhairava. That is why it is said to be the splendour of infinite consciousness.

When the yogi knows all the 3 states as only the expression of the 4th state which is the state of supreme, he is filled with the Infinite Light of supreme (Bhairava).
Mandukya Upanishad says-
The A is supposed to stand for the waking, the U the dream & M stands for deep sleep state.
When A, U and M are sounded together as in AUM, then that sound represents the 4th state of consciousness. It is the highest state. It is the state of non-dualism
and of love. It is the state of God.
