BREAKING : Supreme Court says that it wants to take suo moto cognizance of issues related to COVID19 management.

CJI : We see that 6 High Courts are taking action. We appreciate that. But this is creating some confusion and diversion.

CJI : We want to point out four issues -
a) supply of oxygen
b) supply of essential drugs
c)method and manner of vaccination.
d)we want to give the power to declare lockdown to state govts.

CJI Bobde :These are the four issues on which we want to take cognizance and issue notice.

Since Mr. Harish Salve is here, we want him to assist as amicus.

Justice Ravindra Bhat : Mr.Solicitor, you may go ahead and present your plan(before the High Courts). It is not to supersede any order(of High Court) as of now.

CJI : May be it is better to report directly to the Supreme Court. We will see that later.

Anyway we will issue notice and consider matter tomorrow.
