I've learned that there are kinder and more sensitive ways to communicate. Even if you *feel* like someone deserves better than what they have/got, you can say this without being unknowingly condescending or making them feel judged eg: "you are deserving of love and adoration" as
opposed to "you deserve better than this nigga who won't post you" or "the work you put in is valuable enough for you to have benefits" as opposed to "you deserve better than this shitty ass job". There's a way language can make people feel small, esp people who already know
their situation is not great, blatantly telling them they deserve better can make them feel judged, mocked or even resentful. However, there are some situations where they need a snap back to reality but ultimately we need to be more attentive to how we use words even in well
meaning context. Selah
