Artists & Creators- This thread will cover the following topics. This is my opinions and thoughts on them. Others may have good points to add.
-What does a collector want to see.
-How to price your work.

Q: What are you looking at when deciding if an NFT is worth investing in?
A: I want to see a history of work. I want to see that you have been doing art for more than a few months.
You don't have to be doing NFTs for longer, but I want to see evidence and progress from you
working your craft and developing your skills.
If you have a website showing your other work, I want to see it. If you have Instagram, I want to see it. Put links to all of this in your twitter bio. Make it easy for collectors to find out about you and your work.
If you do something out of the ordinary, or you are able to show how you do your work, that is interesting and adds value to what you do. I want to see it
The artists that are doing well today, most of them have been working at their art for years before becoming "an overnight success." It didn't just happen, they put in the time. Don't expect to get rich quick.
Also, if you haven't put in the time, don't overprice your work, especially if you are new to the space. It will sit there. This is something I am becoming more critical of.
Q: How should artwork be priced?
A good rule of thumb with pricing:
1. Have you sold physical/digital/NFT pieces before? What did those sell for?
2. If you have made 3 sales, consider raising your starting price/reserve a little. Repeat this as sales continue.
3. If you haven’t made any sales, consider lowering your price.
4. Be realistic with your pricing, I don’t want you to lose money on the time and energy you have put in, but if you are unknown, you might have to list just above break even until you have consistent sales.
Something to consider is how distributed you want your work and your name to be. I know some collectors look down on editions, but it's not a bad idea. Your work is distributed and more potential for your name to be known. A sketch style 10/10 and 1/1 for your more refined pieces
Remember the OGs in this space were not selling their work for more than a few hundred dollars. They are/were/still doing work because they enjoy what they are doing. Price your work according to your talent and experience, reference similar artists to your level and following.
