Some stinging comments from the Head of the National Audit Office around PPE procurement today... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/04/21/uncompetitive-ppe-contracts-handed-pandemic-failed-transparency/?WT.mc_id=tmgliveapp_iosshare_AxB0kc6zgrZD">https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021...
Those transparency failures continue to this day, months after Boris Johnson misled Parliament by claiming everything was in the open. This £307m contract has still not been published. https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/561e39a7-0d82-4dfc-a967-e94ea08b9242">https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/56...
He also criticises what he (somewhat inaccurately) describes as a "high priority lane".
It was a VIP lane, filled with cronies, Government described it as a VIP lane, and it caused real problems (as we will show later today).

Moreover @TransparencyUK has highlighted that one in five contracts merit further investigation for potential criminality and system biases favouring the politically connected. If only we had law enforcement agencies prepared to take an interest, eh?
