2/ Tharani is a hospital cleaner and union member who won a landmark case against UEMS Edgenta in Jan 2021. The company was ordered to pay her RM1200 for OT. 3/ Tharani is also a trans woman. When UEMS Edgenta took over Hospital Seri Manjung's management in 2020, their supervisors tried to force Tharani to cut her hair and take off her jewelry, in an attempt to invalidate her gender identity. 4/ UEMS Edgenta is now trying to appeal the Jan 2021 court decision, in an attempt to avoid paying Tharani her fair due for OT work. According to Tharani, the supervisors at Hospital Seri Manjung have also intensified their abuse of her.

5/ Tharani has informed the union that her mental health has deteriorated due to the harassment, and that she is contemplating suicide as a result. For this reason, @KesatuanPSHK felt that it needed to act immediately to stop the abuse.
