i think this is my first twitter rant but here we go;
im a high school student if you didnt know. im graduating next month and my classes end in just about 2 weeks. theres been all the classic pomp and circumstance around graduating as youd expect, and im not a fan. (see below)

this year, ive seen more student aimed events than before, such as a senior sunrise, senior sunset, the prom, and of course the big ceremony. ive also seen a lot of tradtitions that to me just dont make sense.
for example: class jewelry. why would i want to spent a couple hundred dollars on some ring or dog tag that personally remind me of some of the most turbulent years of my life to date? is high school really that romanticized?
theres also apparently a whole thing around prom. if you have a date, the boy drives to the girls house to pick them up in a tux, goes to a dinner, then to the actual event. the dates outfits also should be matching or something? idk it kinda just seems excessive to me.
now if you enjoy all the stuff i said above, thats totally cool. this entire thing is just my opinion and i figured id share it. in conclusion, im kind of miffed about all the attention im getting just because im leaving the school.
who knows, maybe ill look back at this thread in a few years and think "wow i was really sad back then", which i am. i do have issues that im seeking help for as we speak. im also trying to enjoy what little of my childhood i have left, and i mean that in multiple ways.
