“Dictators love teak, which makes us hard to breathe”
Dictators & cronies have been main reason of forest depletion in #Myanmar for decades.
Today, we ring the bells of our friends from #ASEAN #MilkTeaAlliance y around the world to join us, speaking up for those who can’t.
During the years under military rule, they cut down trees, sold them & ecosystem has collapsed. All the money earned by selling people’s properties went directly into their pockets.
Let’s #SpeakUpForNature
Let’s #SpeakUpForMyanmar
After 80 days w/ dictators, they have arrested activists incl. land rights activists from Putao, Kachin State. If they continue to exist & authority is in their hands, our forests will be in danger again.
Here’s 2nd prize winning “World Press Photo” award captured by @hkun_lat 💐
Half of Myanmar is covered by forest, which accounts for 29 million hectares. Since 1990, Myanmar has lost 26% of its forests.

For the sake our forests and endangered species of wildlife, help us spread the awareness. Let’s speak out for all the unheard voices.
