Animal testing is first of all cruel, but also very inefficient. The tests are costly and time consuming and many animals react differently than humans do to certain products. In fact, lab rats and mice which are commonly used for testing only match 50% of human DNA.

That’s less than a cat’s. Monkeys are used for testing yet resistant to a majority of the drugs tested on them. It’s a waste of a life it’s a waste of time and money.

The drug administration in the US spends almost $30M per year to test and distribute— only 6% of which ACTUALLY get sent out. In addition, the drugs/products distributed can become dangerous for human use.

For example, the drug for arthritis tested negative symptoms in monkeys yet killed and gave heart attacks to almost 142,000 people who took it. About 100M animals each year die due to animal testing.

It’s cruel. It’s inefficient. It’s costly. It’s unsafe for both animals and humans.
