The mechanics of time travel is a fave. I love seeing the different rules movies create for it.

The simplicity of this movie leaves room for so much grounded expressions of romance and I love it.

This movie really had me thinking it was going to be one thing and turned into sorting so much richer than that and I am thankful.

What a good ass reminder of what story can do and BE.

Sooooo I actually do not see this movie as a rom com versus a coming of age? It was all about him morphing into a man, priorities shifting, and realizing life is hella precious when you just show up for it as best as you can.

Yep. I was right, it’s not a rom com.
Rom coms are very focused on the romance, with the humorous throws of life interfering and/or enhancing the romance.

This featured a romantic r’ship, but that r’ship was one out of many that changed his life.

This movie was truly about submitting to life. That’s why it was so grounded and the romantic r’ship was run so smooth. It gave room for everything in his world to have attention.

At first, love was the most important thing. He found that, and other things became priority.
