theres like a serious problem in balan wonderworld i rarely see brought up, mainly bc its within the novel, but since it is official content meant to be an extension of the game, i still say its important

basically the novel has this twist in which the cat loving girl is actually the princess the jester fell in love with, and she has been in love with him since she was young. said jester was older than her but they...still get together???

and both are present due to some weird time travel shit, although the novel has artwork of them clearly being a couple when shes...still a kid. yuck

this is also still in the game itself, as the cat loving girl does not appear in the ending shot, instead you see the princess

im not trying to blindly hate bww as i do like some aspects of it, and i do think some of the hate is overblown, but parts like these should not go ignored
