I normally don’t do this type of thing but I feel like I have to.
Texas is currently pushing bills through our legislative branches that would humiliate, demean, and ostracize an already vulnerable population.

Trans kids in Texas are being targeted in a series of bills that are totally unnecessary and egregious.
Children. CHILDREN would be subjected to genital checks and hormone tests if coaches or administrators feel they might be trans and playing in the “wrong gender” sport.
Trans kids in Texas would be denied gender-affirming care from their pediatricians. A state that supposedly values individual liberties is trying to legalize the governmental overreach reach in order to infringe on peoples’ most intimate identity- even as children.
Further, the bills in question would label the parents of these children as child abusers for affirming the identity of their kids.

Despite the fact that trans kids receiving gender affirming care have double-digit drops in suicide attempt percentage, the legislation continues.
Government should be about helping the marginalized and stigmatized become something other than the “others” in society.

Rather than attempt that, Texas is pushing those outside of the circle of society normalcy further to the outskirts of our republic. This shit cannot stand.
Trans kids are kids and should be able to pursue their lives happily without the stripping of their liberty. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. That classification impacts cis gender people so negligibly that it’s baffling that this legislation is the center of a session.
Value the 4th amendment as much as you do the 2nd, Texas.
& to address a common “rebuttal.” These kids dont make one declaration and all of a sudden the ball starts rolling. It’s done in concert with parents, pediatricians, psychologists, and psychiatrists. When people say “kids can’t make that choice” they’re showing you what they know
People. Just be kind to all people. Adjectives and modifiers be damned. Just be kind to people.

Good night, my friends.
