Sorry. I might lose followers for this or incite the trolls or upset people but...if I don't tell you who will?

If the shoe fits, wear it. If it doesn't move along.

Every single person I've seen complaining about indieapril has one or more of these problems:
Reasons you may not be getting sales:
Bad cover
Mistakes or bad grammar on your first few pages
No marketing knowledge
No platform
Not willing to work hard to get it
Unwilling to support others
Begging/pleading/griping
Spamming the tags too much
Spamming the wrong tags
Getting angry at people
Not conducting yourself as a professional
Not understanding you are a small business
I mean, I'm sorry if you're not getting sales. Even the ones doing it all right are struggling right now. The market is FLOODED so even if you are perfect you aren't getting sales. Big hugs, it stinks, I know you're depending on them, so am I.
But if you're not willing to look at it from the standpoint of my marketing is not working and what can I do to fix it, you will never get sales. Blaming other people for not buying your work is not going to help anything. Get out there and figure out what you're doing wrong.
And I'm sorry if that stings anyone. I want to be the one to lift you up and support you and help you succeed. But to do that I have to be honest. Feeding you lies about how perfect you are does not help you.
Also if your timeline is more than 10% of posts talking about/pitching/advertising your own book people aren't going to follow you because that's boring.
AND if you don't know what half of these things are in this thread...that's your problem. Sorry. đŸ„ș

*Also: Only applies to people expecting large amount of sales. If you're a hobbiest writer happy with a few sales here and there you really don't need all of this.
