Wilt Chamberlains GOAT case is that he is a top 10 scorer and defender ever which makes him one of the best two way players ever. He is also a GOAT tier rebounder. What holds him back the most is his PO dropoff along with being a blackhole for about 6 yrs.
To have wilt as the GOAT I would have to think he’s a top 5 Scorer ever and a GOAT tier playmaking big along with being high on his D and peak.
Kevin Garnett’s case is that he is the best playmaking big of all time has top 5 Longevity and Defense. He is held back by his PO dropoff and his “lack” of scoring compared to ATG. In order to have KG as the GOAT I would have to be VERY high on both his Defense and Playmaking
Kobe Bryant’s case is he is a GOAT tier scorer and playmaker for a non PG and was an elite defender for a good portion of his career and was a PO despite having the hardest PO comp ever. He also has top 5 longevity.
Kobe is held back by defensive inconsistency relatively weak peak compared to other ATGs and injuries causing his overall career value to drop. To make Kobe the GOAT I would have to be extremely high on His defense and overall offense along with his peak
Mid Cases:
Tim Duncan
Shaquille O’Neal
Tim Duncan’s case is having GOAT tier longevity and Defense. He also has a fringe top 5 peak and is a PO riser. He was only a great scorer for about 4-5 years which holds him back offensively and his playmaking isn’t all time level for a Big.
To have TD as the GOAT Id have to think he has a top 4 peak and be high on his overall O.
Shaqs case is that he is a fringe top 5 scorer has a top 3 peak and is arguably the GOAT PO performer. He is also the GOAT offensive big man and has all time longevity. What holds him back is defensive inconsistency along with just his overall D.
To have Shaq as the GOAT I would have to be very high on his D along with being higher on him as a scorer and playmaker
Strong cases
Kareem Abdul Jabbar
Michael Jordan
LeBron James
Kareems case is arguably GOAT longevity GOAT tier scoring and he has all time defense. His biggest hold back is early career PO Dropoff and His peak is *only* fringe top 5. I’d have to be really high on his D to put him as the GOAT but it’s reasonable to have him there
MJs case is he has the GOAT peak and PO while being the GOAT Scorer and an all time playmaker and perimeter defender. He is held back by his *lack* of longevity. To have him as the goat I would have to be higher on his D and playmaking
LeBrons case is he is a GOAT tier scorer and perimeter defender an all time Playmaker with arguably the GOAT peak PO and Longevity. He is my GOAT
