If you want to pay more than the "High priority" fee and get your tx mined faster, that's fine.... BUT that's ~20hrs to clear the backlog if there's not a single new txn on $BTC at all IF you go 10-min per-block. Due to hashrate decreases, it's actually FAR, far longer.

This is naturally great for miners, a fee market makes sense, it's how they're going to survive when block-subsidy dries up, but it's unfortunate for users.
