So after 6 years pumping out mildly satirical and oft-ridiculous content @ForbesTech, today I sent my editor *the* email, officially ending my time as a contributor at this outlet. She'll probably see this tweet before the email though.
I touched on it last week, what I want to do going forward (more storytelling, looser content feel) and I'll be doing that at Knowtechie. But only cause I can do whatever I want there cause Kevin is my squishy bear.
THE POINT IS, after 13 years of writing about consumer tech & social media (of which I've repeated myself a lot, warnings never heeded), I've got to switch it up a bit.
and I know it's tough out there for writers and I don't do this full time, so I don't feel too much guilt for quitting a gig when so many are struggling to find shit
I will continue to launch dumb projects and watch them fail, then do it again

that's not changing

just the writing about tech/social media

I have the luxury of not having to really focus on it anymore, fighting for page views, writing dumb headers
I also started building Gundam models, so that's cool
Anyway, thanks to @HelenASPopkin for putting up with my shit for 6 years, for standing up for me when I pissed off the suits and for barely editing my work, forcing me to learn how to make words better so randos would stop emailing me grammar corrections
also something about all the relationships and friends along the way

barf
been focusing more on my art the past year anyway, maybe there will be a payoff there, I don't care, I've got doge
