Drew Brees coming back from a deficit to lead a comeback just for his defense to blow it last minute (A Thread) :

Brees was down 0-20 to the #1 defense in 2017, as we know he gave them the lead 24-23 with less than a 1min left , the Vikings then got lucky & scored on the fluke play as time expired

Saints were down 21-10 at home to KAP and the 49ers , drew brees came back and gave them the lead 24-21 with a 1min left , the 49ers tied after a 50 yard pass play on 4th & 10 to send to OT which the saints ended up losing. (2014)

Another 49er game ... Saints were down 17-7 to the 49ers on the road in the divisional playoffs , brees then came back form that deficit to take a 31-29 lead with a minute left but then..... the defense blew it at the last minute

Yep, can’t seem to close games out against San Fran.. Down by two scores in the 2nd half of the 4QR against the 49ers , brees helps the saints take the lead again at 46-45 with less than 1min to play. The defense then let up a big 4th down gain resulting in a 48-46 loss

The saints were down 7-17 on the road in the 3rd quarter. Brees later threw a TD to rookie @KSTiLLS with 3Min remaining & kicked a field goal later to go up 27-23. The Patriots then scored a TD with 10 sec remaining . 30-27 Patriots win.

Down 3-16 on the road in 2014 to the browns , brees comes from behind to give them a 24-23 lead in the late 4QR, but the defense leaves a receiver wide open for the browns to kick a FG in the last minute . 26-24 loss in 2014 a year of these

The worst of them all. Brees was down 16-27 to the then 15-1 panthers , he worked the saints back to take the lead in the late 4QR 38-34, but with 1min left the NFC champs won the game 41-38 ..

There are many more games where brees had the lead the whole time but the defense blew at the last minute but I just posted games where brees led a comeback that was blown. Might add them in here soon

Down in the 2nd quarter , brees took control of the game as they went back n forth all the way till 50sec left in the game where the raiders scored on a 2 point conversion to win 35-34. Brees finished with 430 yards and 4TD’s,top 10 best performances of his career ruined by The D

not a deficit but it was already painful without Sean Payton coaching (2012) the defense allowed jamaal Charles to run for 233 yards which later resulted into a 27-24 OT win for chiefs
