Theres been a lot of interest in Glasgow Life venues today. All of Glasgow’s cultural and sporting venues had to close (just like the rest of the country) as a result of the global pandemic. As a result Glasgow Life lost nearly £40 million of earned income https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/18701347.amp/ https://twitter.com/glasgowlife/status/1384969481412300801
They are now starting to reopen.

90 venues at first and more when possible. Some venues can't open yet due to financial pressures, some due to ongoing refurbishment, some due to social distancing.

Glasgow is no different to any other local authority. Its about Covid not choice.
Pre covid we began exploring new models for operating venues. This has helped put venues into the hands of local groups and in some cases brought millions of pounds of added investments into communities.

It was the right thing to do pre covid and all the more important now.
Our recent roll out of the 'People Make Glasgow Communities' project has been hugely popular. 150+ expressions of interest under 2 months.

Glaswegians deserve honesty, not political slight of hand. Those politicians attacking the current situation are the same ones who had cuts in their recent budgets for Glasgow Life. Only the SNP had a plan for keeping venues open. https://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/news/a-message-from-glasgow-lifes-chair
The SNP was elected on a clear manifesto commitment not to abandon local communities in the way Labour did previously.

We will be sticking to our word.
