so hear me out:
shelby and toni kiss on the cliff but toni slightly backs up bc after she started raising suspicions abt the island, she doesn't know who to trust anymore so shelby backs up even farther than toni did and they just stare at each other for a good solid minute -

- toni then says that she doesnt feel as safe as she used to when they first kissed on the cliff and that she is scared but she doesn't tell shelby why so obv shelby tries to find out why but toni acts really cold in response to shelby trying to figure out whats wrong -

- until toni tells her that she thinks smth is wrong with the island which then makes shelby spiral too bc she thinks maybe the relationship and everything thats happened so far was a set up not only for her but also for toni so they both kinda start questioning whether or not -

- what they feel for each other is actually real and before they can figure it out they're being rescued and then back in the bunker, toni has a lot of time to reflect and realizes that what shes felt for shelby is real but she also starts to question a lot of things -

- in regards to her relationship with regan and starts re-living all those painful moments which make her incredibly sad and quiet meanwhile shelby is this badass who actually is still spiraling about the events and the fact that smth was in fact wrong with the island -

- which then reminds her of becca bc becca was somewhat the reason she landed on that island in the first place and so we end up seeing both shelby & toni first face their past a little bit more before being able to accept their present in order to be together in the future -

- i dont know if any of this made any sense bc i havent slept in 34 hours
