I am voting for the candidate who has a concrete business-backed plan for getting our community back on track in the post-COVID recovery.
Here’s a thread on why I will be supporting @ForrestDunbarAK for Anchorage Mayor.

Here’s a thread on why I will be supporting @ForrestDunbarAK for Anchorage Mayor.

It's not a secret that Forrest Dunbar wasn't my first choice for our next mayor, but he has been endorsed by my first choice, @BillFalsey, who received nearly 10,000 votes of confidence and has a solid reputation and track record for doing what's best for Anchorage.
This is not even a question for me. Forrest Dunbar has compassion, local government experience, and has surrounded himself with a coalition of informed, diverse local change-makers & community leaders that uniquely positions him to be the best equipped candidate to lead our city.
Dave Bronson is inexperienced, has a history of participating in damaging initiatives that have hurt our community, and he's a hyper-partisan ideologue who spews a lot of the ill-informed, slanted Trumpian rhetoric that has torn our country apart in the last 5 years.
Dave Bronson is openly anti-LGBT, he uses racist dogwhistles & his rhetoric is damaging to police-community relations that APD has worked hard to improve. I worked for almost 3 years to help police-community relations. Bronson is a kick in the teeth to APD & our BIPOC community.
Dave Bronson has exposed his own ignorance on multiple occasions in public mayoral forums, which makes sense why he skips out on them so often, especially when he's welcomed into territory where his lack of knowledge or his unflattering history is especially apparent.
Beyond a blow to community morale, Dave Bronson would simply be a catastrophe for Anchorage and would undo a lot of critical work that's been done over the last few years to keep our community's nose above water and onto a path of growth.
Dave Bronson doesn't know how local government works. His mouth writes checks his ass can't cash. He might puff his chest about his 'new direction,' but I promise you - he does. not. get. it. That lack of knowledge will be a disaster for city operations & our most vulnerable.
Dave Bronson is the 'Save Anchorage' candidate, and the Save Anchorage movement, in all its existential irony, is a stain on our community. The bullying, the threats, the chest-beating, the yelling & personal attacks–that is Save Anchorage. It represents the worst of who we are.
We need to Save Anchorage from Save Anchorage.
People have a right to express their concern and to participate in the public process; they have a right to be upset and to disagree. But there’s a huge difference from civil discourse and hostile community warfare.

2020 unearthed a lot of desperation, distress, hardship, and loss across the board – and instead of everyone working together and supporting the greater good like we all did in the 2018 earthquake, Anchorage became fragmented by ideology and a lot of angry people got radicalized.
I'm on the side of real solutions, not just inflamed rhetoric. I'm on the side of science, not fake news and armchair experts. I know I share that side with @ForrestDunbarAK.
I'm on the side of improving police-community relations, not hurting it & bolstering warped ideas that sow distrust & resentment. I'm on the side of community commitment and economic recovery, not divisiveness and moving backwards. I know I share that side with @ForrestDunbarAK.
I'm tired of people blindly rallying behind mayors or presidents purely off of ideology and propaganda when they hardly know what's on their local Assembly agendas and School Board agendas, and have never attended a single Community Council meeting.
A lot of these same people wouldn't be able to tell you the initiatives and partnerships happening at the Municipal level that are actually helping people and improving our city in real time.
To those who DO know and DO care - keep fighting the good fight. I’ll be alongside you.

I wanted to make it very clear, because I know a lot of people are aware I worked hard on the Falsey campaign and I'll always support Bill in anything he does. He’s one of the best people I know. He has a genuine heart for this community & his endorsement carries a lot of weight.
I will be voting for @ForrestDunbarAK for Anchorage Mayor in the May runoff. And I'm proud to contribute my efforts to making sure he gets elected so we can continue doing right by ALL our community members - not just the loudest and most hostile ones. Anchorage deserves better.
