1/3 Social workers are so skilled. In a single day they might help rehouse a loved pet, undertake a complex assessment, provide a cup of tea and a listening ear to someone struggling w/ a loss, identify an unclaimed benefit, present a case in court and supervise a student.

2/3 This work requires communication skills, report writing skills, ability to integrate multiple theories and apply research, manage risks others run from, a stong value base, willingness to engage anyone and appreciate their context, their strengths and their needs.

3/3 To those who want to hate on #socialwork- not interested today. It's not a perfect profession + of course there is plenty of poor practice -esp in poorly supported settings. But there is so much good done + so much care given + so much skill. #socialworker I solute you
