25 new cases of COVID-19 announced in Nova Scotia today (Wednesday, April 21) 1/
19 cases are in the Central Zone. 4 are related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada. 9 are close contacts of previously reported cases. 6 are under investigation. This includes 3 school-based cases announced yesterday.
3 cases are in the Northern Zone. 1 is related to travel outside of Canada. The other 2 cases are currently under investigation.
3 cases are in the Eastern Zone and are related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada.
There are now 79 known active cases in the province. 2 people are in hospital with the disease, but not in ICU.
1 of the cases that is under investigation in the Central Zone is a staff member at Ocean View Continuing Care Centre, a nursing home in Eastern Passage.
Another case that is under investigation in the Central Zone is connected to Joseph Giles Elementary in Dartmouth. The school will remain closed to students until Tuesday.
Premier Rankin and Dr. Strang have scheduled a COVID briefing for 1:30pm tomorrow.
Of the new cases, 3 are 19 or younger; 10 are aged 20-39; 6 are aged 40-59; and 6 are aged 60-79. Thankfully, no one is 80 or over.
Nova Scotia Health labs completed 4,562 tests yesterday.
Yesterday, 14,783 doses of vaccine were administered. This is a single-day record, by far. In total, 230,801 doses have been administered. I'll drill down into those numbers later.

Repeating from earlier, there's pop-up testing going on until 7pm today at the Halifax Convention Centre, and until 7:30pm today at the Sackville Sports Stadium.
