The difference (or similarity, perhaps) between Doug Ford and your doddering parents flubbing through learning how to use a new laptop is wealth and power. Skills aquisition is hard and those in power demand it from others while bypassing the process for themselves.
The demand today is to constantly update your abilities to make it in the job market or to access information. The folks at @VaxHuntersCan are demonstrating what access to a combo of those skills can do.
Robust change management and training should be provided by employers and available in public sector institutions like libraries. These things are hard to do. And if you are lucky enough to find yourself outsourcing or bypassing process, ask yourself why?
The humour of this particular situation to me is that Doug has been confronted by the fact that people have acquiesced to his requests and/or demands for years and that has stopped at literally the worst possible time (for him and us).
(also the lack of foresight of a gov that didn't see working from home as a potential problem??? this year???)
I will admit as someone who has been diagnosed with a learning disability and didn't aquire accomodations until university there is also a small tiny fraction of glee there too
Dan can have little a schadenfreude, as a treat
