Sheriff Wooten said search warrant was being served around 8:30am on 421 Perry St. in Elizabeth City, when Andrew Brown Jr. was shot and killed by deputy.

He said there is body cam footage, but he has not seen it.

The officer involved is on administrative leave. #13newsnow

Sheriff Wooten could not immediately recall Mr. Brown’s age when I asked.

In terms of nature of search warrant — said that will be revealed in investigation.

Said trusts NCSBI & will act based on findings.

Sheriff estimated the department activated body cameras about a year ago.

“What we are looking for right now are accurate answers and not fast answers.” — district attorney
