Important reminder that watching footage in slow motion distorts intent and severity of action. When combined with a frame by frame press conference voiceover, it is an absolutely abhorrent display of the excesses of police power when it comes to framing a narrative.
Body camera footage of a police killing is footage of an active homicide investigation, where the officer is the prime suspect. Media needs to stop treating it as anything but that.
It’s the responsibility of the courts to render a decision on the narrative of events, not the police department’s PR goon.
Rest in Peace to Ma’Khia Bryant and to too many others.
