We are pleased to hear that Police Officer Derek Chauvin has been convicted for the "murder" of George Floyd. However, this is simply a reminder that a "bad apple" has finally been held accountable against all odds. This is not justice. We have to change the system. #BLM #Cycling
P2. We have to fight against racism. The video you are watching is of an interaction between two members of BCN and police. These incidents happened a few months apart in 2019. On the left is BCN founder @blackcyclist getting racially profile while riding his bike.
P3. On the right is BCN member Benjamin getting assaulted by British Transport police after refusing to leave their premises without his belongings. Ben had voluntarily walked into the station to explain a verbal argument he had with his partner at a train station.
P4. He was not under arrest and yet the police confiscated his belonging along with his mobile phone and then roughed him up when he refused to leave without his belongings.

As we write this, more incidents of police abuse of power is going on.

What should we do about it?
P5. For starters, we must acknowledge that there is a problem.

It& #39;s not just a few "bad apples". It& #39;s a system that allows bad apples to thrive. The worst thing about the first video is how the other officers covered for their colleague instead of stopping him.
P6. They did not think twice and they all got away with it. The officers who did nothing to stop the murder of George should be trialled as accomplices to a murder. That& #39;s how you change a toxic culture. The police should be made to answer to a panel made up of community leaders.
P7. That panel should oversea their budget, transgressions and keep them accountable.

Lastly, we& #39;ve seen the reaction in football to a bunch of greedy American billionaires trying to ruin the game. The German super clubs Bayern and Dortmund refused to participate in this #ESL.
P8. Why? Because 51% of the club is controlled by the people who care (the fans). EPL should adopt this method.

"It& #39;s amazing the amount of uproar that comes into the game when somebody& #39;s pockets are being hurt. It& #39;s a shame it& #39;s not like that over racism" - Darren Bamford https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😘" title="Kusshand zuwerfendes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Kusshand zuwerfendes Gesicht">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙏🏿" title="Gefaltete HĂ€nde (dunkler Hautton)" aria-label="Emoji: Gefaltete HĂ€nde (dunkler Hautton)">
