This happened on the *same day* a coalition of local journalism groups sent a demand letter to city and county elected officials after recent police attacks on press — and we've yet to hear from officials condemning this detainment *or* public acknowledgement of this letter https://twitter.com/cerisecastle/status/1384621148718080003
"Law enforcement officers, and government agencies more broadly, must not interfere with journalists as they work to provide accurate information on these protests and law enforcement’s response to them."

Seems relevant when LA was put on tactical alert last night for no reason.
But this was not last night. Not even at a protest. This was at a press conference. During the day.

Literally hours after the letter went out. https://twitter.com/joshpcain/status/1384710253363621893
Thank you @ACLU_SoCal for this letter amplifying the demands of journalist groups and this thread documenting law enforcement’s role in the harassment, detainment, and physical attacks on local journalists https://twitter.com/aclu_socal/status/1384981237836644355
