Remember when, after the Harry/Meghan interview, the Society announced that the UK media were racism-free? We all know the Mail and its friends will defend their racism to the last breath. But the promise 6 weeks ago was to call them out and challenge them. Not to sneak back into bed with them and resume business as usual. 3/6
Where editors tackle the problem in their own newsrooms, that's good. But it's not enough. It doesn't help those who endure racist abuse from the Sun, Mail, Times, Telegraph, Express etc. Those people need remedies. Journalists can't just turn their backs. 4/6
Did you know that @IpsoNews, the sham regulator, actually has rules that enable and protect racism and hate speech in the press? And did you know that @guardian and @FT use the same, shameful code? 5/6
