Fenway Sports Group and John Henry, get out of our club.

A thread on all of the things they’ve got away with. #FSGOut
May 2012:
Club legend, Kenny Dalglish is sacked. Despite winning the League Cup (first trophy since 2006). FSG were widely criticised for their treatment of Dalglish and lack of respect for a club hero (see next tweet). Nice start fellas!
September 2012:
Club record signing Andy Carroll is sent on loan and the club fail to find a replacement in the window. John Henry releases a letter of apology to the fans blaming Dalglish. His intentions are clear: Revenue before football. Early signs of transfer incompetence.
November 2012:
FSG appointed Director of Comms, Jen Chang departs the club after he harassed a Liverpool fan. FSG didn’t own up to this, they simply said he “left for family reasons”
2013 Onwards:
Liverpool hack into Man City’s scouting database and cover the PR by paying a £1m settlement. In the MLB, FSG’s Red Sox were also found guilty of illegally decoding opposition signals: a major offence in Baseball. So much for ethical and moral owners...
February 2016:
FSG raise Anfield ticket prices to £77. Fans protest and walk off the Kop after 77 minutes. FSG reversed the decision and said they would learn from it, they didn’t. Revenue before fans, as always. They denied accusations of being “greedy”.
November 2016:
FSG attempt to partner with Israel Tourism Board causing controversy during the Israel-Palestine conflict. 2 years later they partnered with AXA, known for funding Israel’s illegal occupation and killings.

Nice training ground name right? All for the money
August 2019:
Liverpool win the Champions League. Their reward? £1.7m of transfer budget for 3 useless players. 18 months later, Liverpool are paying the price of failing to invest while on top. Just another example of their transfer incompetence
September 2019:
FSG attempt to trademark the words “Liverpool” and “Liverbird”. The move is rejected, but is one of pure financial greed with no regard for the people of the city, their culture, tradition, history and small businesses. No prior consultation with fans yet again.
April 2020:
During the Covid Pandemic, multi-billionaire owner John W Henry places non-playing staff on furlough reducing their wages by 20%. Only reversed because of fan pressure, not their morality. Disgraceful
October 2020:
John W Henry, along with Man United owners, spearheads the move for Project Big Picture. This was an attempted power grab. And a move which would have paved the way for additional lucrative mid-season European fixtures. Money and power, Henry’s only interests.
January 2021:
An unprecedented injury crisis sees Liverpool without a single senior centre back available for the rest of the season. Jurgen Klopp’s initial requests for one are denied for financial reasons. He is eventually given £2m to cover for his 3 injured CBs. Absurd.
April 2021:
John W Henry becomes vice-chairmen of the Super League. Not much more to say about this. His apology was fake, forced, manipulative, and full of lies. Hopefully this is our final sight of him.
Other incidents he may or may not have been involved in:

- Protecting Suarez after being found guilty of racism
- Tapping up Van Dijk, forcing the transfer to be postponed
- Cheating scandals in the MLB
This guy is a cancer. He acts purely out of self interest and financial greed. He apologises rather than seeks permission.

You give me him another chance, he will do something again. Force him out. #FSGOUT
