one of my many personal fandom pet peeves, by the way, is people reducing everything to "abusive/not abusive" dichotomies, and forgetting that relationships can be unhealthy and/or toxic and still not be abusive.
especially when it comes down to "they argued twice, therefore one of these characters must be an intentional abuser and you must throw the whole character away"
things don't work that simply.

hell, arguing isn't even necessarily a sign of something being *unhealthy*, never mind abusive.
It *can* be, but it isn't *necessarily*.
and the more people try to force it into a total binary the more frustrated I get.

...also that man, people really do forget there's other kinds of relationships than romantic, and those can still be bad too.
someone who is an abuser in their romantic life is probably not a particularly healthy friend, either.

but seriously, huge peeve. stop flattening every. single. incidence of a character's actions out to Intentionally Good or Intentionally Bad, and judging the whole character on a single moment *you* have removed all the context and nuance and circumstances from.
this is a bit scattered because I am having a "20 trains of thought all heading for a pileup" day whoops
