THAI CONSTELLATION THREAD!
2 years ago I got a baby Thai constellation before the hype made them super expensive. Today it blows me away. With its leaves.
This is the first leaf it gave me and the only surviving baby leaf. Behind it you can see the next leaf which also wasn’t fenestrated.
This was my first fenestrated leaf which I got about 9 months after receiving it. I had 2 leaves come in before this one also not fenestrated. It took 3 non-fenestrated leaves before I got it!
This was the next leaf after that which had MUCH more fenestrations. This was 110% due to the fact that I gave it a moss pole. It shot its next aerial root right through it!
This was the next leaf - MUCH bigger and even more fenestrations! There’s some bad damage because this was a new leaf when I moved my plants from NJ to FL back in December.
And finally the most recent leaf!! Same amount of fenestrations as the last one but smaller (probably due to shock from the move)
It usually takes about 1-4 months for a new leaf depending on several factors. If you move it around it’ll take longer, give it a pole to climb it’ll be faster, more humidity - fast , lower light - slower, and fertilizing.
I fertilize twice per month from March-October with diluted orchid fert and cal-mag and do NOT fertilize during winter months as it’s essentially hibernating. And I let her dry out before watering. I’m going to use this thread to post updates on her 😋
