OMW to Los Deliveristas Unidos’ protest today in Times Square. These delivery workers are organizing for basic workplace protections.
This was the scene at their first major protest last October in City Hall Park. https://twitter.com/clauirizarry/status/1335757080599343105">https://twitter.com/clauiriza...

It just started to rain, but that’s not stopping the Deliveristas, who deliver rain, sleet or snow. The rain was just their cue to roll.
Before it started raining, I met Javier, better known as #ElChapínEnDosRuedas, an influencer among Deliveristas with an active YouTube channel. He wants people ordering delivery to know that “working delivery is hard, and we deserve to be protected.”
And I met Nahielly, who started delivering about a year ago when she lost her previous job due to the pandemic. Most of LDU are men, but the number of women is growing. “We all deserve a living wage,” she said.
Lots of signs honoring Francisco Villalva Vitinio, the Harlem delivery worker who was shot to death on the job earlier this month by someone who allegedly was trying to steal his e-bike.
