Today marks Cllr @philipnormal's last day as Mayor of Lambeth before handing over the reigns to Cllr @AnnieGallop.

We wanted to take a moment to look back on his incredible year in office - thread ⬇️
Becoming Mayor during the first lockdown led to @philipnormal, who is an artist & designer by trade, making his own chains from recycled textiles.

The chains have now been acquired by the @MuseumofLondon for their #CollectingCOVID initiative https://www.museumoflondon.org.uk/news-room/press-releases/acquires-homemade-ceremonial-chain-part-collecting-covid-project
For his Mayor's charity, @philipnormal chose The Albert Kennedy Trust - @aktcharity helps young LGBTQ+ homeless people find a safe home and build better future.

For his work supporting LGBT+ causes, Philip has been nominated for a National Diversity Award https://twitter.com/ndawards/status/1384101105869549582
The pandemic has meant it was a very different year for the Mayoralty. Despite this, @philipnormal has, whenever possible with lockdown restrictions, continued to make visits and carry out civic duties. Most recently, visiting the National Covid Memorial Wall.
Thank you for all you have done for our wonderful borough, Mr Mayor
