Okay since there’s a lot of controversy and misinformation about what #Polyamory is, i think id tell you guys as a polyamorous person in this thread!
Lets start off with the definition:

Polyamory or a Polyamorous person is someone who not only experiences attraction to more than one person, but may also have more than one partner at any given time, with the consent of all members.

Polyamory and Open Relationships ARE NOT THE SAME.
An open relationship refers to a couple who seek out solely sexual partners outside while maintaining a healthy relationship
Polyamory is a person or a group of people involved romantically and/or sexually with each other

Polyamory IS or CAN BE:
-Hierarchical (meaning one person is your main partner while everyone else is separate from them)
-Consenting between all parties
-A fun experience!

Polyamory is NOT:
-Cheating
-Cross Affairs
-An excuse to cheat or manipulate

“Does everyone in a polygroup have to date each other?”
No! you date who you feel comfortable with, and if you’re a monogamous person dating a polyamorous person, you’re just dating that person, not the polygroup. You always have a right to separate yourself!

If your partner tells you they are polyamorous but seeks out relationships without your consent, they are not polyamorous. Polyamory does not stand for or condone cheating in any way, and using polyamory as an excuse to cheat is disrespectful and polyphobic.
