A long thread potentially but I wanted to address something that I think is really important and that’s mental health. It’s super important to look after yourself and people around you and I think the nft world is no different.
Firstly, if you aren’t selling that doesn’t mean your art isn’t awesome. The world is a big place and NFT is relatively young, you just haven’t found the right people yet. importantly when looking at other artists, avoid comparing and projecting.
Comparing - it’s natural to look around and see other people selling and think why not me? No good can come from this as we’ll never know the entirety of the interaction that led to that artist selling. It doesnt mean they are ‘better’ as art is so subjective...
We all put a bit of our souls into each design and rejection via silence can hurt but other people’s success doesn’t detract from your skill or the journey you’ll go on yourself. Consistency will pay off you are running your own race. Don’t compare yourself to others!
Projecting - if you are like me it’s super easy to project competency on to other people. Social media makes this worse. You see someone doing well and think ‘they’ve got it sorted’. if you speak to them you’ll probably find that they have the same worries and anxieties as you!
We are all experimenting and failing all the time, the thing is you don’t see that on social media! The only mistakes you see are your own but always remember that focussing on this creates a false impression!
Most importantly of all if you find yourself getting burned out TAKE A BREAK. Building any career is a marathon not a sprint so push back against the pressure to always do more. Create something you love, find people who appreciate you and flourish! That’s it from me - Big love!
