I get it when folks tell me they can’t do the right thing because their companies won’t allow it. What grieves me is when we think that’s all we can do. Human beings can do a great deal.

This is not meant as a guilt trip or a shaming statement; rather, I feel like we need a reminder of our capacity to create a good change for all. I’m witnessing real cynicism from young folks, which we elders may have caused. That’s all.

And if we didn’t cause it, perhaps we tolerated the bad things. Small, measurable actions matter. I don’t know when it’s 100% safe to do good things. Peace is not stillness. Peace is hard won by a lot of folks working in a common direction.
