Kacchan's present was coming along nicely. He had his favorite textures in the front, some fidget stuff in the middle, and a place to store snacks in the back.

Kacchan didn't speak until he was five but Izuku didn't care! He did all the talking for him until he was ready.
He was diagnosed with autism when he was a kid, they recommended he go to a institution but his mother refused. She said there was nothing wrong with him and he was staying with her.

Izuku was so happy. Kacchan was Kacchan no need to look any further than that.
Kacchan gets frustrated sometimes, but that's just when 'extras' are being annoying or the teachers aren't working with him.

Everyone expects him to blend in, to be at everyone else's level, and he's 'not about that shit.'

He didn't talk till he had something to say.
His first words were a whole sentence.

His mother asked, "Do you want to come with me to the grocery store?"

"No, I'm not going, they don't do the free cookies thing anymore." He kept playing with his ball while she covered her mouth.

"Then I'll go now, be good Katsuki."
"Mmn, bye mom."

She smiled and wiped a tear as she locked the door on the way out. She always knew she made the right decision.

Izuku stayed by his side through their whole childhood. They were inseparable. Katsuki would sneak into Izuku's house at night and climb in his bed.
During the day or around other people he hated being touched, but at night he longed for it. Inko can't count how many times she came to wake up Izuku and saw her son's arms and legs tangled up with Katsuki's.

He would just climb out the window.
The apartment had a fire escape that made it very easy to get in and out.

When they went to high school Katsuki ended up spending more time alone than before. Izuku was disappointed but he was never upset with him.

He missed sleeping in the same bed though...
But working on his gift really made him feel more connected with Kacchan again. He was going to love it! It clipped into a binder so he wouldn't stand out if he needed to use it.

Izuku was shocked from his thoughts when he heard, "Happy birthday!!!" From the living room
Oh no!! Kacchan hated surprise parties!! He /told/ them this!!! Why didn't they listen?!

He rushed to the living room to see Katsuki absolutely scowling while the class shot streamers into the air. He ripped one streamer into pieces and huffed, obviously barely tolerating it.
Izuku needed to sneak him out. He stuffed the coping binder under his arm and turned the lights off, tapping Kacchan on the shoulder and signaling they should run.

Katsuki grinned and followed Izuku out of the room and into the elevator.

"Where are we going Deku?"
"Let's go to the roof!!" Izuku hit the button for room access and the walked into the crisp air and sat by the fence, sighing.

"Deku uhm... Thanks or whatever."

"No problem Kacchan! I um I have something for you."

"Eh?" Katsuki tilted his head to the side.
Izuku pulled out the coping binder and Katsuki stared at it curiously. "What is it?"

"I call it a coping binder, it has your favorite textures and some fidget stuff..."

Izuku bit his cheek as he waited for Katsuki's response.

Katsuki flipped through the pages.
He felt the textures on each page with a neutral expression. He spent the most time on the soft page. Petting the faux fur and the leather. The fidget page has some spinning objects and a puzzle. Katsuki flipped to the last page and saw fully stocked snack bags.
He was silent for so long Izuku was nervous. He really thought he would like it...

"Deku, I- I don't know what to say." Katsuki closed the binder and played with the cover. "It's fucking perfect."

Izuku's eyes immediately watered. Kacchan liked it!
Suddenly he was forced in a hug, Katsuki holding him so tight it almost hurt.

"No one ever tries to understand me. Fucking write me off as weird or try to change me. Everyone except you. Fuck, Deku..." Katsuki buried his face in his neck and let out a few tears.
They pulled back and Katsuki pressed a very tentative kiss on Izuku's unexpecting lips. It was brief but charged with energy. They separated and Izuku blushed wildly.

"Wait, was I reading that wrong?" Katsuki said suddenly. "Shit. I thought-"

Izuku kissed him back softly.
"No Kacchan I wanted a kiss," Izuku mumbled.

"Oh good." Kacchan's face was neutral. He usually was either angry or neutral. But this time he has a dusting of pink on his cheeks.

After a whole life with Kacchan, Izuku could understand him for the most part.
Kacchan was really happy. He shook one of his hands by his hip, a clear sign he was much happier than at the party. Izuku felt blessed to spend this time with Kacchan.

Izuku's phone buzzed continuously for several minutes so Izuku looked to see the class mass texting him.
Kirishima: do you know where Bakugou went?!
Aishido: if you're with Bakugou tell him we're sorry!
Kaminari: We should have listened to you (。•́︿•̀。)

"Kacchan they're worried."

Katsuki flipped to the soft page and pet it for a moment. "Let's go. But I'm leaving after cake."
Izuku smiled.

The class dimmed the lights and turned the music down. They didn't crowd him too much and shared some cake among them all.

Katsuki left soon after cake but the class felt relieved they didn't make him too upset.

That night he crawled into Izuku's bed.
They lay in silence legs intertwined and foreheads gently pressed together.

"Goodnight Kacchan."

"Night... Thank you Deku."

"Un."

In the darkness Izuku saw a small smile on his Kacchan's face. "Happy Birthday Kacchan," Izuku whispered.
Thank you for reading!!! I'm actually autistic so I was hella projecting this time haha.

Hope you enjoyed!!

If you have the means I could really use a tip! I'm saving my entire paycheck and disability check and only spending writing to escape an emotionally abusive home.
