The 7 people who can shut down the internet.

||A Thread||
It might sound like something straight from a science fiction movie but the internet can be shut down, Globally.
Seven people around the world hold the keys to the Internet.

They are uniquely mandated to shut and restart the global network should a terrorist attack, hacking event or other any other serious threat happens.
An organization called (ICANN ) Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers came up with a plan and chose the seven keyholders.

We can call them guardians of the Internet
In an event of a major attack on the global internet connection, the seven keyholders would combine the code they hold to recover the master signing key which is necessary to shut down or restore Web servers that power the Internet around the world.
A minimum of five of the seven keyholders would have to converge at a U.S. base with their keys to restart the system and connect eveything once again
So who are these seven guardians of the cyber world?

If you thought these people are world leaders or giant tech owners like Jack and Mark. I am sorry.

These keys were assigned to normal internet experts.
ICANN went a step further to not keeping these guys a secret from the world.

They are

Paul Kane (Great Britain)

Dan Kaminsky (USA)

Jiakang Yao (China)

Moussa Guebre (Burkina Faso)

Bevil Wooding (Trinidad and Tobago)

Ondrez Suri (Czech Republic)

Norm Ritchie (Canada)
What do you think would happen if the whole internet was shut down for a day?

To which extended would you be affected?

Can you survive a whole day without the internet?
