Looking through some old notes this morning and found a map I started of counties I've visited since starting at @gpbnews in 2016.

Of the 159 counties in our great state, I've been to 27, reported on/about 14, for 41 total.

Looking forward to getting that number higher soon!

The pandemic made it hard to go places, but also covering the Legislature several months a year meant at first I stayed in metro ATL.

Also, we have a small staff (4 FT reporters!) so it's not as easy to take a day away from the crush of news to travel - but I'm working on it!

And I guess really, I started as political reporter in the fall of 2018, so it's really 2.5 years of travel+more than a year of it in pandemic lockdown.

Still, I've made it a mandate to get outside ATL as much as I can to poke holes in typical coverage of "two Georgias."
