We're not supposed to be on a continuous trauma and anxiety loop. We can take time to check in and do what we need. We don't have to flood ourselves with anguish to prove that we care. We all have different responses, capacities, and intentions.
A lot of things get lost in declarations of what's required of us to overcome the problems we face. We all have different bodies with different lives and experiences. Everyone has to find their place and that requires us to check on ourselves and be careful.
All sorts of people burn out and break down trying to keep responding to every single thing. We have to stop and ask what we're working for and where we're needed and what our capacity is. We find our place and do what we need to do with love for ourselves as well as others 🌱
The romanticization of revolution and uprising that squeezes masses of people into one role is something we don't have to do. Some people caretake, some cook, some organize, some clean, some fight, some make art, some teach, etc. We can find our place(s) when we check in.
