Things haven& #39;t always been easy for me, especially in childhood.
While my mother always did her best, she had me younger than she could really afford to. Mix that with a bunch of family drama, and I was left with the remnants of a turbulent and unstable childhood.

Make no mistake, the family members in my life wanted the best for me and still do to this day!
But their choices and decisions turned me into a little girl who had to be stronger than she should have been.
A little girl with a weight on her shoulders that didn& #39;t belong.

Fast forward a decade or so, and the pandemic hit.
At this point, I& #39;m...
- smack dab in the middle of a depressive episode
- overweight and unconfident
- as emotionally unstable as it got
- completely and totally overwhelmed
Things weren& #39;t looking great for me mentally.

What I thought was going to accelerate my declining mental health actually ended up being the best thing for me.
Being in quarantine gave me time to reflect on my life and the outcomes I was getting.

I knew I didn& #39;t enjoy being depressed and having to put on a brave face for those around me, but I didn& #39;t know how to get out of it.
That& #39;s when I remembered the importance of my mentality. If I didn& #39;t believe that I could get better, then I wasn& #39;t going to.

So, I decided to give affirmations a try.
I started with simple, common statements that I found on Google and thought may be able to help.
With time, I did begin to feel better about myself and my circumstances. Me feeling better ultimately led to me doing better.

I& #39;m now 20 pounds down since quarantine began, have healed my relationship with my loved ones, and feel that I& #39;m in the best mental and physical health of my life.

Approaching the affirmations in good faith helped me transform myself from a fear-driven girl to an abundant young woman who looks forward to life.
