How to step out of your comfort zone and succeed (a thread):
1. Educate yourself

Others have stepped out of their comfort zones before you. Talk with them and read what they’ve written.

It’s easier to learn from others’ experiences than it is to learn the hard way.
2. Make a plan

The better you get, the more comfortable you’ll be. And the more intentional you are about what you’re doing, the faster you’ll get better.

Set small goals and give yourself a deadline to achieve them.
3. Start, and then take one step at a time

The only way out is through. Take steps that are meaningful enough to get you closer to your goal but small enough to feel achievable.

Taking small steps builds confidence and detaches you from fear.
4. Embrace the process

It’s easier to accept hard days when you know they are built into the process.

Growing outside of your comfort zone is a privilege because you’ll discover things about yourself you never knew.
5. Get comfortable out of your comfort zone

Paradoxically, the longer you’re out of your comfort zone, the bigger your comfort zone gets. Always look for new challenges to surmount.

Sooner than you think, you’ll be doing things you never thought possible.
What is now easy to you is not yet easy for others. Take the “elevator” back down and bring people up to your level.

Be generous with your teaching and coaching, the same way others have helped you.
