Nagulapahad Village in Nalgonda distt of Telangana region is famous for many ancient temples. The village is surrounded by Suryapet and Chivvemla Manda in North,Nereducherla Mandal in South and Munagala Mandal in East.
Two famous temples located in Nagulapahad are Trilingeshwara Aalayam and Veerbhadreshwara Aalayam. These temples were built during the reign of Kakatiya Kings. Kakatiya Kings used their signature style of using black stone to carve beautiful statues in the temple.
Trilingeshwara Alayam and Veerbhadreshwara Alayam resemble strongly in architectural style with the Pillalamarri Temple in Suryapet and Thousand Pillars Temple of Hanamkonda in Warangal distt, as all these temples were built during Kakatiya Period.
Thousand Pillars Temple stands out to be an architectural masterpiece built by the Kakatiyas.Temple was designed by the sculptors from Kakatiyan dynasty and it depicts Chalukyan style architecture. Temple resembles the shape of a star&the pillars have intricate carvings on them.
Built in the 12th century , the temple has 3 shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva,Vishnu and Surya.
Pillamarri Temple of Suryapet in Telangana has a history of 1000 years and is one of the oldest temples if Nalgonda Distt of Telangana State.
