I& #39;ve been leafleting my village and now I have opinions about letterboxes. Thread:
Vertical letterboxes: come on. Nobody wants this. Does it open top to bottom? Left to right? Right to left? I found one of each. Horrible.
Draught excluders, the brushy kind. Go to hell. Get a magnetic one instead which you can put your hand through easily.
Tiny letterboxes which only fit thrice-folded A4 longways: what a waste of everyone& #39;s time. Your post has to be mangled to get inside the house. Who decided this.
External mailboxes: perfect. Divine. There is rarely any spring loading on the flap. Easy. I love this.
Gated properties without an external facing letterbox: what do you want me to do here? Break in? Sometimes there& #39;s a side gate for foot traffic, sometimes not. Unclear. Always a letterbox on the actual door past it though. Mixed signals.
Floor level letterboxes. Psychopathic shit. You need to bend right over and usually there& #39;s a dog directly where your hand has to go to get it through your draught excluder. Should be illegal.
Whatever the hell these are; you have to lift it directly in the middle of the flap or you can& #39;t get purchase on it. Who decided to make a letterbox a riddle? This isn& #39;t a game, I have things to deliver
This thing which goes through a thick door; I get it; I respect your need to exist. I do not respect the brush on the other side of the gap. EVERYTHING GETS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE. Idiotic.
These are incredible. Fully external so no spring loading on the flap and no draught excluder. Also makes satisfying sliding noise. 10/10
A porch without a letterbox leading to a door with a letterbox. I didn& #39;t come out today to be opening doors. Stop it.
A private driveway which takes 5 minutes to do a return walk down, with no external letterbox at the entrance to the driveway. I& #39;ll leave this for viewers choice comments.
