Don't tweet into the void

Audition for your audience

Reach out to them, interact with them

Offer value to the community

You don't always have to be the original smart tweet guy

Amplify other's voices

When you want attention from someone, then give a really meaningful reply + add value to the influencer and their followers

If your reply helps someone in the influencer's circle, then they will associate your name with the influencer.

A thoughtful answer gets you followers.

Sending direct message to big accounts asking for a favour is likely to be ignored if you haven't built a relationship with them.

Send thoughtful emails and questions to them. Figure out how to first provide value before asking for a favour.

Always add value.
