5 Lessons I learned in the Navy that can help you live a fulfilling life.

A Thread
1. Power of Habits

-Bootcamp introduces new habits to new recruits

-These habits change you

-In just 2 months, I was a completely different person after bootcamp

-Left with many new fitness and health habits, among others
2. Respect different people

-I'm from New England originally but met so many different people from everywhere.

-This gave me an opportunity to understand that everyone is brought up differently

-Respect others' views and culture, we all use different lens to see the world
3. Traveling is priceless

-My first tour of duty in the Navy was San Diego, I was terrified of leaving the east coast

-Once I arrived, I loved it

-Later on, traveling to over 20 countries, allowed me to see that traveling allows me to see what is different in the world
4. Rank does have privileges

-The military is big on rank, at first I didn't like it since I was bottom of the pile.

-In life, rank does matter but maybe in different ways

-If you put your reps in with anything, you become King/Queen at it
5. Structure is needed

-As much as I love being an entrepreneur and doing my thing, structure is paramount

-Without structure, you don't have systems, progress, and frameworks

-I like to call the ideal work scenario as "structured freedom"
