Acting on impulse is rarely a good thing, so I didn& #39;t after I was basically told to shut up or be blocked this morning. Having had this in the back of my mind the better part of the day, I& #39;m not at peace with this. Even taking into account that I MIGHT me wrong, I& #39;m still not. /2
I was genuinely shocked by the news that (another) Black girl was fatally shot and quoted the source with the news flash. This has had much more coverage by now, but that& #39;s not the reason I post this. My reaction was genuine and I see similar posts 100x a day. /3
My message and the "WTF?!" I started with, were taken as an insult. My subsequent question(s) as to why and my explanation(s) about my intentions only aggravated the situation. I don& #39;t usually engage in Twitter fights, but the one time I did, it was solved in a civill manner. /4
This was not: shut up or I block you. I don& #39;t care how BIG you are and how you do EVERYTHING for the greater good of the people. If you mute your followers in such a manner, you& #39;re wrong. I& #39;m trying every day as well, I want to learn, but I don& #39;t want to be bullied. /5
Despite my white privilege, I have had my fair share of shit in life, even if it may be just a good laugh to many. I do not pretend to be able to understand them, I can only try to be better and educate myself and others. That& #39;s why I am here. Plus, the occasional LOL session. /6
I love how despite everything that& #39;s going on, there& #39;s room for fun, jest and crazy chains that will have you burst out in laughter every 5 seconds. What transpired this morning, has kept me feeling down all day. Fuck that shit. If you side with mr. Bad, that& #39;s okay. /7
I& #39;m not judging and I& #39;m not asking anyone to pick a side. If you want to unfollow and/or block me, also fine. You can also ignore this whole thread - I just needed to get it off my chest and with this, I did. Kinda.
