Day 2 of Behaviour Hub training for lead schools today, and so far I'm finding it really useful.

I've seen some confusion about how the hubs will work so thought these insights into how lead schools are being trained might be useful.

THREAD:

1/
Firstly, I've seen concerns that pupils will be identified as a problem and packed off to a hub. This is not how the hubs work at all - the hubs are about schools coming together and are intended as a supportive mechanism. It isn't about moving pupils to different schools.

2/
Secondly, it's been explicit that the support isn't about creating clone schools or encouraging schools to adopt the practices of a lead school in a superficial manner. Rather it is about leads working alongside partner schools, using their self-audit to action plan.

3/
Importantly, schools accessing the support will self-identify and volunteer to become partner schools, establishing their own vision of what they want to achieve and be supported in working towards and, crucially, sustaining it, supported by comprehensive training & coaching.

4/
Partner schools will not thoughtlessly copy the practices of lead schools - rather they should be supported to establish what is right for their context. For this reason the partner schools will be sensitively matched with lead schools, which include special schools and AP.

5/
It's been great talking to some staff from other lead schools. Thanks to @tombennett71 and all others involved for the training so far!
