A points deduction for the actions of the six English clubs is necessary and fair.

Here’s a thread from the last ten years of other clubs being deducted points for far lesser offences.
20/21 Sheffield Wednesday receive a 12 point deduction for a breach FFP rules. Later reduced to 6 points on appeal.
19/20 Wigan Athletic receive a 12 point deduction for entering Administration less than a month after getting a new owner.
19/20 Macclesfield Town deducted 17 points for various breach of rules.
19/20 Bolton Wanderers deducted 12 points for entering administration.
19/20 Bury FC receive a 12 point deduction for arranging a CVA with creditors which was followed by expulsion from the league.
18/19 Birmingham City are deducted 9 points for a breach of financial rules.
14/15 Rotherham United docked 3 points for fielding an eligible player.
13/14 Coventry City were deducted 10 points are a failed CVA left them in administration.
13/14 AFC Wimbledon lose 3 points for fielding an eligible player.
12/13 Coventry City enter administration and are deducted 10 points.
12/13 Portsmouth FC are deducted 10 points for leaving administration with a CVA that didn’t comply with the EFLs insolvency policy.
12/13 Aldershot town are given a 10 point deduction for entering administration.
11/12 Portsmouth FC receive a 10 point deduction for entering administration.
11/12 Port Vale are given a 10 point deduction for entering administration.
10/11 Plymouth Argyle enter administration and are docked 10 points.
