‘Working-class’* seats have been slipping away from Labour for some time, while support has risen in less working-class places:
Relatedly, 68 (!) of Labour’s 125 target seats (E&W) are in & #39;towns& #39;* that are outside wider conurbations - Darlington, Lincoln or Wrexham. Ie NOT in major cities, or their suburbs, or towns that make up conurbations.
Working-class voters, and voters in towns outside conurbations, must be a top priority – albeit not an exclusive one. There are no short-cuts to a Labour government.
